scoliosis? : ‘And what should we do now?’

Most parents who are confronted with the fact that their child has scoliosis have never heard of this curvature of the spine.

Sometimes they see the gibbus or a crooked position in their daughter or son by chance and then contact them
with the doctor. The GP can then refer their son or daughter to an orthopedic scoliosis specialist for further examination.
Once the term scoliosis has been coined, questions such as: ‘What is that?’, ‘How is that possible?’ and ‘What
should we now?” To find answers to these and other questions, telephone assistance from the Association of
scoliosis patients or via the Dutch Scoliosis Center is an option.
